Thread Bare

What a treat to do this creative with Darya (Dasha), a model who really brings something to the shoot. I'm a little in love with these images right now and hope you enjoy them too! My intent was to create a nude palette with the setting and make-up, and for the hair and fabric textures to be mirrored in each look.

I have a little black sketchbook where I jot down my ideas. It's especially useful to work out elaborate hairstyles or to convey art direction themes. Lots of times the actual implementation strays from the concept, but sometimes you can see where the idea comes through. Here are some "before and afters" of my thought processes.

Palm Springs

An editorial that I worked on last fall with Trevor, was finally published this month in PrivatAir Magazine. I love the shots, and loved the experience! All those palm trees, all those wind towers, all that hair threatening to fly away in the gale force! As a result, I also love hairspray.
