Cute, creepy things
Is it cute? Is it creepy? Is it a little like granny on too many meds? I don't know, but I like making these masks.
For some time now I have been scouring thrift stores for linens and laces and embroidery and re-purposing them to make wearable masks. I won't go into a long explanation of why (that's for the analyst's couch) or step-by-step written instructions on the process, but here are a few images of masks in the making, and a couple of the final masks, and wetplate images of the styled masks by my sweetie Fred Fraser.
Model for wetplate photos is the lovely Viktoriya Kozik

Collared Queens
As some of you may know, I love a good accessory... or prop, or... weird outfit thingy.
With the making of these collars I got to dabble in all three! I actually created them a million years ago in "fashion time" (last spring) and used them in a fashion story that published in See.7 Magazine about a month ago, and I'm just now getting around to blogging the project. Slow cooker, this one.
Thanks to Joanna for beautiful styling with some lovely little surprise twists (that's why she's great), and Robert for rich intense images (and a very cool throne), and Jenna for her "Rick Genest" expression... love it every time! And let's not forget our BTS angels - Fred Fraser for bts video footage plus offering to do the image editing, and James Filbry for videography and creation of the bts video. What a team!
If you're interested in the behind-the-scenes, check out the making of the props, and a little video of the shoot both featured, along with the story on See.7 Magazine.
Here are a few teasers, go to the links for more. :)

Zee Croissant
Ms Croissant, that is, Jacqueline. She's lovely, and light... but not flakey. Anyway, I had fun with my tickle trunk, and trying to get a few different hairstyles going (which is not easy with hair that is for the most part shorter than an inch.) and just check out those amazing luminous eyes. Oh, yeah baby, they're real.
Anywho, it's also very nice to work with someone who is comfortable wearing very sheer clothing, even though my aim was not to "show anything", when styling it always seems so jarring to have to put a bra under a lovely lace or sheer top, or having thong lines show under elegant pantyhose. As you can see, we reveal nothing but the beautiful textures of the clothing.

Katharina in the afternoon
Well, in the afternoon, and in the morning. Kind of a midday thing, really. you know, when there's lots of light and all you have to do is use it.
I made a little setting for Kat, dolled her up a bit, and we explored a soft, reflective, innocent mood. A nice little exercise for both of us, me as a sometime photographer, her as a new face model. It's lovely to learn without pressure!
Anyway, here are some results from our play day.
