Lately our studio has become a hotbed of archaic photography. Fred is obsessed with his large-format wet plate process, and I'm frequently swept up in it too, as stylist, make-up artist, assistant, set dec, coffee-maker. Not only is it a fascinating process in its own right, with almost ethereal qualities to the final product, but the session itself is a step back in time in pace and quality.

Once upon a time we shot a wedding fashion editorial and now it is finally "out" and we can share a bit of the process. One of those rare circumstances where I got to combine two passions - design and fashion. Here's a little creative where we just wanted to stretch the boundaries a teeny bit and see how different one model could appear... within a fashion context, and without being cartoonish or using anything fake. My first commercial was for McDonald's Teryaki McChicken. I couldn't believe it! I've decided my first images post will be my own photography. That way I don't play favourites with any of the cool photographers I get to work with - especially my sweetie, Fred Fraser (who technically has the first image because he shot my happy profile image). These are some of my "blurrist" photos, my preferred way of seeing the world around me.

So, hey there, this is my first go at blogging. I don't know how much writing I'll be doing, but I'm pretty sure there will be a LOT of image updates, because I am almost always doing something that results in visuals.So keep your eyes open. Heh.
